Goldbaby

Goldbaby is an Auckland, New Zealand-based sample label founded in 2006. The label is known for its high-quality drum sample libraries, synthesizer presets, and loops, specializing in vintage analog and digital sounds recorded through professional studio hardware. A huge thanks to Hugo at Goldbaby for allowing us to bundle some of their free sample packs. There are loads more free sample packs, so head on over – and while you’re there, also check out their full offerings.

I took the liberty of shortening some file names – here are the full names and links to where the packs can be found.

Freesound

Freesound.org has grown into one of the largest databases of Creative Commons-licensed sounds in the world. With over 500,000 user-contributed sounds ranging from field recordings to synthesized audio, it serves as a free, community-driven resource for musicians, filmmakers, researchers, and sound designers alike.

The samples used here have been provided under the Creative Commons CC0 license, making it OK to use for any purpose (including commercial).

All samples in the DRM and INSTR folders were sourced from Freesound:

Prelinger Archives

The Prelinger Archives is a vast digital collection of over 60,000 ephemeral, advertising, educational, and amateur films founded by Rick Prelinger in 1982. This historical repository preserves mid-20th-century American life and media culture, making thousands of public domain films freely accessible online for public use and creative reuse.

The samples in PREL_ARCH folder were cut from the films with the same title – all of the titles were marked as being in the public domain.

Adventure Kid

The Adventure Kid Single Cycle Waveform (AKWF) collection is a massive, highly regarded library of over 4,300 tiny audio loops designed for use in synthesizers and samplers. By loading these microscopic digital waveforms into compatible instruments, musicians and sound designers can instantly create completely unique, custom synth patches and textures from scratch.

I’ve included just the first of the many folders of single cycles. To use them, set the trigger mode to LOOP, LPND (loop pendulum), or to use it with the arpeggiator, set the trigger mode to LARP (loop arpeggiator).
