    Hi there,

couldn’t find a Bravo forum, that’s why I’m posting here. Came across your site and completely enchanted by your machines! One quick question: I’d assume that the MB with Bravo firmware can also be synced to external MIDI clock as a slave. I couldn’t find that feature in the feature list. Do I assume correctly?

    Cheers,
    Johannes

    Hey Johannes,

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately the Bravo firmware does not receive clock, and can’t work as a slave in this way. It also doesn’t receive MIDI input for triggering samples on the Bravo from an external sequencer.

The reason for this is that I’m using the excellent Arduino MIDI library for MIDI functionality. When I create a MIDI callback function for listening to MIDI input, however, it triggers the install of enough code to push my sketch over the allowed size limit. It might be possible to get more MIDI functionality by not using the library and working with serial sends and receives directly, but I unfortunately I don’t have time to look into it at the moment.

Just to reiterate that it does send MIDI clock, so you may be able to find a workaround. Though not ideal, I agree.
